Trier

We took a quick trip to Trier, Germany today. It is about an 1 and 1/2 hrs from where we live. It is the oldest city in Germany, founded in or before 16 BC. It is very close the the France and Luxembourg. Trier is known for the Porta Nigra (best preserved Roman City gate north of the Alps), Roman baths, Cathedrals and theaters. We visited the Porta Nigra and spent the afternoon a popular city market where we toured a beautiful cathedral, ate ice cream, and shopped.

Beautiful Cathedral just outside the market.

A stop for some tasty ice-cream!!
